I had every intention to stream last week, but I fell through on my stream schedule due to a very long “quell well” (work week).

I also thought I would be up to streaming multiple days this week, but then I forgot to take my afternoon dose of antidepressants today.

So to be on the safe side, my stream schedule this week is just going to stay at one day.

I thought about teasing an impromptu stream on Thursday or Friday, but I’m not sure how missing a dose will affect me this week.

I also have a fair bit of stuff to complete on Friday for work and for errands, so it’s also probably best to take the day for myself.

So for now, my stream schedule continues to stay at one day.

I hope to see you Saturday for some more Sims and brunch!

Upcoming Plans

Next week, however, will be a bit more streaming, hopefully!

I have Friday off of work (trying to use up PTO instead of lose it), so I’m contemplating a Thursday evening stream.

I’ll also be participating in ThanksInternet’s Charity Stream on Friday April 29!

I don’t think I’ll stream while active on her channel, but I would like to try and raid in to the start of her event.

I should hopefully have more details about games and times when I’m ready to post next week’s stream schedule.

Normally I would have liked to post my stream schedule for the week on Monday.

However, I’m dealing with some medication changes, and wanted to make sure I was really feeling up to streaming this weekend come the middle of the week.

So far, I think I’m good to go! I’m going to be picking up where I last left off with the Flower Legacy Challenge.

Our second generation heir is now a toddler, and we have some goals to finish for our founder, Rose.

I’m thinking of doing a small Just Chatting segment to start, and then jumping in to chill and cozy Sims.

I want to get some time in with the Flower Legacy Challenge family!

This past week got out of hand more than I thought it would.

I was dealing with some dosage changes to my antidepressants, and it made streaming well beyond my capabilities on Saturday.

Good news is that I’m being brought back down to the dose I was initially on (and doing well with), so I’m hoping that I’m leveled out for streaming this weekend.

If I still don’t feel 100%, I would like to try going no-cam, or even trying a no makeup stream, before having to cancel.

We’ll see how I’m feeling, however, before I make a final decision.

Website Rebrand?

I’ve been putzing around with this whole blogging thing for twelve years, now, and all of those years have been under Gamer Girl Confessions.

But I think it’s time to bite the bullet and rebrand. I use Chestnut Plays everywhere else, and I’m thinking of changing the blog URL/title to align.

That way I don’t need a separate site that just boasts links and a bio, and redirects here for all my actual content.

I’m not sure when the switch will happen, but when I officially change the URL I’ll let y’all know to update your links.

I will still be keeping the Gamer Girl Confessions domain, however, as a redirect to the new URL.

I’ll probably also put a “formerly Gamer Girl Confessions” in the header image as well.

Have y’all ever rebranded your content after years of using your current name? I’d love to know how it worked out for you!

I ended up needing to take off January and February, but I’m back with a new stream schedule for the week!

I’m really trying to get back into it, even if it’s only one day a week. I miss it something fierce.

This week I’m only going to do one day because I have quite a few meetings at day job this week as I wrap up some projects.

I’m hoping that this bodes for a bit of a more normal work load so that I can get back to streaming more than once a week.

But I’m not going to try to push myself too hard or too fast—I’ll take it one week at a time.

Content Goals

A while ago, I mused on a schedule that I wanted to use for the blog.

Since then a lot has changed.

I’m no longer just blogging; I’m also trying to stream and put out YouTube videos because I miss doing both.

So here’s a sneak peak at what and when I’d like to post SFW content (at least for March and April).

Saturdays also end up including adult content. Now, will I always stream on Tuesdays and Thursdays? No.

But the days are there as options depending on what’s going on in my life and at work.

I know that it doesn’t necessarily look like a lot in schedule form, but that’s not including a lot of backend and admin work for all of my content.

It also doesn’t include all the daily exclusive content on my Fanhouse and adult subscription sites.

Wednesdays are pretty much my only “day off” content because I have therapy, and it’s date night with Manthing.

Another week, another stream schedule!

I spoke too soon last week when I said that the week was looking more manageable.

So I’m knocking on wood this week before I even begin.

Like last week, I’m going to be doing some chill Animal Crossing on Thursdays.

I really want to start fiddling around with Island Designer even if I have no idea what I want to do.

I’ll also be continuing my Sims 4 Flower Legacy Challenge on Saturday.

There’s just something about playing this challenge on stream that’s invigorating to me. I’m looking forward to it!

Butt-Kicked by Life

I have every intention of streaming as I start the week.

But the past few weeks of work (and by extension life) have just… blown up on me.

I don’t like it. And not just because I don’t like having life go ka-blewy.

I really do want to log on and hang out with folks and stream. And streaming helps me to make the time to actually play games.

Knock on wood, but this week looks like things are settling down a bit. So I can start prioritizing content a bit more in the ways I want to.

I’m back to content with another stream schedule! Last week was excruciatingly long, but this week is looking more manageable.

So I’m going to try to stream two days this week—Thursday and Saturday.

I’ll be doing some chill Animal Crossing, and trying to design my island for the first time ever on Thursday.

Saturday I’ll finally be continuing my Sims 4 Flower Legacy, and I’m so excited to finally get back to it!

I might stream a bit longer than 3 hours if I really get into it. Which I expect I might.

YouTube is Coming

Speaking of my Sims 4 Flower Legacy, I’m finally going to start uploading episodes for it on my YouTube starting next week!

Getting back to putting some content on YouTube is something I’ve wanted to do for a while.

I miss creating all of those housing videos I made in WildStar, and I figure condensed streams is the next-best-thing I can get into.

One day I’d also like to get back to creating planning videos, but right now it’s a bit too much on top of day job, adult content, and streaming.

So far this month I have finished six books… which is more than most months this year, and I still have a few days left.

Granted, one or two of those books were a DNF read (did not finish), but I’m also trying to be better about giving myself permission to DNF books.

Which may or may not become another post in the future.

I also got myself a new reading chair!

I used to have a papasan chair there (it’s now in the living room), but it’s just not comfortable for long periods of time.

I’ve been eyeing these oversize circle/oval chairs for a while, but they’re like… $1200 USD minimum.

So on a whim, my partner and I went to a local furniture warehouse and found this one for about $450 USD. I had to get it.

I do not regret the purchase at all. I’ve used the chair a lot in just the week I’ve had it, and the fur children love it so very much!

It’s funny to feel like I’m nerding out over a chair, but I totally am. Does this mean I’m an adult, now?

Nerding Out Over Gaming

This time of year, I always seem to get into a Sims streak. There’s nothing wrong with that, I just find it interesting.

I am hoping that it lasts longer than it usually does, however, because I’m really enjoying the Flower Legacy Challenge that I’m working through on stream.

I’m also currently playing DBD, though I’m still disappointed over various things Behaviour (the company) has done as of late.

But there’s nothing to really scratch the itch of DBD without playing DBD right now.

I’ve eyed Propnight, but I have yet to try it. I really want to try VHS, but have yet to get an invite to the beta.

Nerding Out Over Project Management?

Okay, this one might be a bit out there… but hear me out.

I’ve been trying to create a content workflow with Trello and my bujo this past year for content creation, and it just hasn’t been working out.

Trying to set specific dates for each piece and portion of content is a pain in the butt with Trello, and sometimes I need something a bit easier to change up in the moment than my bujo.

I decided I needed something more project management-focused.

Enter… Asana. And the above YouTube video, which helped me to set up a content calendar specific to my needs.

I’ve only been working in it a week but so far it’s helping me to be a bit more pro-active than reactive with my content.

It also helps me to better see what is and isn’t a reasonable ask of my time based on what else the day holds.

And when I have bad brain days, it makes it much easier to see when I can re-work things to try and stay on the timelines I want to set for myself.

Overall, it’s helping me to feel a bit more balanced. But, like I said, I’ve only been using it about a week.

So we’ll see how well it holds up throughout the year.

How is it December already? I don’t understand. But here we are. And with a new stream schedule for the week.

I really hated missing stream on Saturday, but my depression and lack of spoons got the best of me… followed by a migraine that evening.

So I’m going to try to stream two days this week instead to make up for missing Saturday’s stream.

Since I finally unlocked K.K. in Animal Crossing, I can officially build on my island! So that’ll be the focus of Thursday’s stream… though I have no idea where to begin or what to do. But I’ll figure it out as I go.

On Saturday, I’m going to continue my Flower Legacy Challenge in The Sims 4. I surprisingly missed playing Sims on Saturday more than I thought I would. So I’m looking forward to getting back into it this weekend!

VPN Thoughts

I’m also finally looking into obtaining a VPN. I want to play some DBD on stream, and of course this is the thing to make me finally decide to invest in a personal VPN.

Y’know. Because of the whole doxxing thing that’s happening to DBD streamers?

I really want to play some cozy DBD on stream, so I figured with all the deals on Nord VPN right now, I’d pick it up.

Doing some research it seems to be one of the best out there right now, and seeing a bunch of streamers using Nord is a bonus.

I’m surprised that I’m actually enjoying streaming Sims, as well. So much so, I decided to introduce my founder in a blog post, and start putting my current playthrough on my YouTube in shorter form videos.

This week, though, my stream schedule consists of a single streaming day—what I’m now referring to as Sims Saturday.

I have a bunch of things to attend to this week at work, and add on top of it multiple doctor appointments.

Doctors are draining at the best of times, and going to the doctors at the end of the year is just absolutely draining in a country that has for-profit insurance. (But I will end that rant before I begin it.)

This month I am also going to be setting up the little holiday tree I have in my streaming room! I’m thinking of getting little paper ornaments that I can write on to hang on the tree for every subscriber or gifted subs.

I’ll also be sending out some nifty holiday cards to those who end up getting stickers from sub-goal giveaways, too!

I’ve been having a lot of fun on stream as of late playing the Sims 4. As I’ve mentioned before, I love the ideas presented in the typical Legacy Challenge (started by Pinstar).

But the well-known legacy challenge has far too many rules for me to just have fun playing The Sims and enjoying the story my Sims create. I knew that I wanted to get back into playing Sims, but I didn’t know where to start.

So I browsed the extensive list of challenges on the Sims 4 forums, and found the Flower Legacy Challenge.

While it provides a bit more guidance than I am used to on what the goals of each generation are, I’ve not yet found it limiting. I also like that it is a six generation legacy instead of a ten generation legacy—it’s a little more bite-sized than Pinstar’s Legacy Challenge.

I already think there could be some tweaks to make it a bit more inclusive in its wording, but that’s neither here nor there.

All that said, I wanted to do a quick post introducing my Sims 4 Flower Legacy Challenge’s founder: Rose Darling.

Meet Rose Darling

The description given to the first generation of the Sims 4 Flower Legacy Challenge is as follows, though I tweaked it to be a bit more gender-neutral and improve readability.

You’re like fairytale royalty come to life. You’re young, beautiful, and a hopeless romantic. You’ve read every single romantic love story there is, and now that you’re finally an adult living on your own, you want to make your biggest wish come true—find your one true love.

Name: Rose Darling
Traits: Romantic, Bookworm, Jealous
Aspiration: Soulmate
Career: Writer

The name, and the way your Sims look is optional, but the challenge creator asks that Sims look the part. To accomplish this, I’ll give them clothing and living spaces that match the color of flower their generation is related to. For Rose, that color is Red.

Traits, Aspiration, and Career are all determined by the challenge’s generation. Each generation also has specific goals and/or rules that must be followed to “win” the Sims 4 Flower Legacy Challenge for that generation. I’ve once again tweaked these to be a bit more neutral and readable.

• Master the Writer Career
• Complete the Soulmate Aspiration
• Get married as a Young Adult
• Have three (3) children with your Spouse

I did have some confusion figuring out what was meant by the Writer Career. You can be a Freelance Writer in the game, so it took me some time to realize the Sim could actually join a career as a writer.

The career track is not specified, so I’m going to pursue the Author branch for this run through of my Sims 4 Flower Legacy Challenge. But enough chatter, let’s take a look at all of Rose’s chic outfits!
