That Streaming Thing

I started getting back into streaming this week back on Sunday with a somewhat last minute impromptu Sunday Skyrim stream, inspired by my best friend. I had a few folks stop by, which was very sweet of them (and I hope they had fun like I did!). But it was a bit annoying after the fact when I tried to upload it up to YouTube, and it flagged me.

It seems to have been fixed because the video is once again available to link, and my community strike seems to be gone, though I was never notified of it being fixed. Which in and of itself adds to the annoying. I think what was most annoying about it is that it was flagged less than an hour after I uploaded it. Sometimes I wish there was a solid alternative to YouTube so I could diversify a bit more.

Because I enjoyed streaming Skyrim so much, I decided to randomly do a stream on Wednesday night of Dream Daddy (since I’ve also been trying to get through my massive Steam backlog…). It didn’t actually happen on time, which I think hurt, but I did do it, because I really enjoy the game. I’ve started up as the logistics storyteller for the Mind’s Eye Theatre home-brew Vampire I play, and our storyteller meetings aren’t on a set schedule. That fact is kind of hard for me, because I’m a very scheduled person to help keep my sanity. And the only time that worked out this past week was Wednesday, and it ate into stream time. I’m hoping we can get a bit better at scheduling so that I can have an easier time scheduling my streams for the week, though I did try to update social media and Twitch as soon as I knew I’d probably be late to streaming.

I’m not someone who can say “Yes, every Xday I can stream starting at Xtime”, but I can at the very least set up a schedule the week before and say, “Okay, here’s what it’ll be for the week!”. So I’m trying to work out what I can do for this coming week by Saturday, and post it.

I don’t expect to become huge on Twitch, but it’s something I enjoy doing, so I figured why the hell not.
