Another Belated Nerding

Much like last month, I’m behind on my monthly wrap up, but I feel like I’m getting into the swing of content creation more a bit this week… which I hope continues! There’s not too much I’m currently nerding over this month, so let’s get to it.

Warrior Nun

Manthing and I ended up turning this on one date night, and then we both finished it separately because we couldn’t wait to finish it. I loved the pacing and the characters… though I still feel a bit odd about a male character just not showing up anymore after the halfway point when they were a big part in the first half (it felt like an odd pacing thing, though it’s true to character and situation). The ending felt a bit predictable to me (though I may an outlier, as many reviews call it a twist and a cliffhanger), but I’m very much looking forward to how season 2 (if it happens) will progress.

Fringe

Another date night, Manthing and I were flipping through shows trying to find something to watch when we discovered IMDb TV. We briefly browsed through it and found Fringe. I expressed interest, having never made it past partway through season four, and he mentioned never watching it, so we popped it on. IMDb TV has ads, but they weren’t long and bothersome, so we decided to watch the first two episodes of the first season. I forgot how much I enjoyed Fringe. We’re still trying to figure out if it’s something we’ll watch together, or I’ll zoom ahead on, but I’m looking forward to re-watching it and finishing, finally!

Stationary

My love of stickers and planners and stationary in general has continued without decline. I’ve even recently picked up some Travelers Notebooks (B6 size) to try out the system, in a modified way of course. I should receive all of them sometime in September, so I’m looking forward to all the exciting covers I’ll have available! I’ll end up writing a more detailed post at some point detailing my thoughts on the Travelers Notebook system, and why I think moving to it will work out well for me. But for now, I’m just enjoying that I have pretty things coming in the mail!

Weekend Odds and Ends

Weekend Odds and Ends

Ding 45!

Yes, Daddy Cid.

I’ve been having a lot of fun in FFXIV, which is surprising in a way based on how meh I’ve felt about the game until picking it up again. I can’t believe I’ve already hit 45! I expect that I’ll be through the majority of the base game MSQ by the time the new patch implements changes to it. Though I can’t find details on if Patch 2.1-2.55 MSQ will be affected by the newest patch. I’ve especially been enjoying the eye candy that is Cid. His voice could be deeper… but he’s still fun to look at.

No Cam Streams

I decided to try dabbling with a no-cam stream on my last stream. I’ve been having a rough time balancing my day job workload and my spoons. Day job has been draining them faster than usual as of late, and it’s made doing anything else day-to-day beyond difficult. To try and combat this, I decided to try streaming without cam because I truly wanted to stream… I just didn’t have the spoons to add that extra oomph that a cam requires.

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Though I do still want to use my cam, I will probably do no-cam streams more often as day job continues to be draining. There’s only one solution to the draining, and it’s not one I can realistically pursue at this point in time (though I am trying hard to work my way to the point where I can).

Still Planner Obsessed

I’m still enjoying my planner stickers and the act of using them. They have been keeping me on track better than I expected, even weeks after the fact. Or months at this point, I suppose. I’m still catching up on my YouTube planner videos, however. Catching up as in, following the schedule I’d laid out for myself that didn’t take lack of spoons into account. But I’m slowly working my way into a better schedule. I’ll get to a place where I can put out content as I like eventually.

New Rig, Get

For those that don’t follow on Twitter, I finally replaced my ten year old computer with a new rig! I originally purchased my old rig in December 2010/January 2011 at Micro Center for approximately $500 USD. It was one of their store builds, and served me well for quite a long time. The newest components in the PC were a gaming card that I upgraded in November 2015, and the hard drives which got replaced last year.

I still need to put together a true list of what’s in my rig, but… I’m enjoying it so much! It’s a miracle to me to not have programs crash. To be able to publish content in under an hour. To not have the fan running constantly as fast as it can. I’m not sure how my computer held out as long as it did, but I’m grateful that it kept chugging. Now, however, I get to enjoy a pretty RGB computer with four hard drives!

Nerding Goals July 2020

Nerding Goals July 2020

May/June Recap

I set up some May goals that seemed like I would manage most of them. I didn’t manage many, however, due to changes in the world and my own changes in game interests.

  • Inventory Management (ESO)¬†Check!
  • Pick up the last items I need for learning crafting traits (ESO)
  • Do a few quests in Grahtwood (ESO)

I worked through my inventory management and tackled that, but I also realized that ESO really isn’t what I’m enjoying right now, as much as I may want to. So I’ll likely be putting ESO goals on the back burner for now, even if I do happen to log in and play some this month.

  • Finish¬†Phoenix Wright: Justice for All¬†(Visual Novel)
  • Play¬†Muse Dash¬†(Community Game-Along)¬†Check!

I played quite a bit of Muse Dash, and have enjoyed myself greatly. However, I never did write about my thoughts on the game for the Community Game-Along. I’m not currently playing Muse Dash, but I do still have it installed because I will never say no to a game that works out well for depression days, or nights when I just need to unwind with mindless entertainment. I don’t think I’m going to participate in the Community Game-Along this month, as it’s JRPGJuly, and I don’t have the mental bandwidth to pick up an RPG right now (unless FFXIV counts!).

As for Phoenix Wright? Well, I saw that all of the games are available as a bundle on Steam, and well. I unfortunately missed the sale for the bundle. However, since I now know they’re on Steam, I’d rather play them there for ease-of-play, if I’m being honest. So I’m holding out for another sale on the series. For now, however, it’s coming off of my goals list.

  • Complete Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 of Sunstone (Comics)
  • Complete¬†The Lesser Kindred (Reading)¬†Check!
  • Start¬†Redeeming the Lost (Reading)¬†Check!
  • Complete one of the two books I am reading for my business (Reading)

I have yet to pick up anymore Sunstone, but I flew through both The Lesser Kindred and Redeeming the Lost. Business books got nowhere, but I think that’s partly because I didn’t call out which one I wanted to focus on, and partly due to the world environment making things feel pointless.

  • Complete Season 5 of¬†Star Wars: Clone Wars¬†Check!
  • Complete Season 10 of¬†Stargate SG-1¬†Check!
  • Complete Season 3 of¬†Stargate Atlantis¬†Check!

I finished both season 5 and 6 of Star Wars: Clone Wars, but I’ve yet to start season 7, which I addressed briefly in my last post. I also completed season 10 of Stargate SG-1, the two Stargate movies, as well as seasons 3 and 4 of Stargate Atlantis. I am looking forward to finishing Atlantis out, but I also don’t want it to end. Overall, I didn’t do too badly on my goals over the two months I worked on them.

July Goals

  • WHM to 45 (FFXIV)
  • Complete MSQ through level 45 (FFXIV)
  • Complete¬†How I Made $10K as a PSO (Reading/Business)
  • Complete¬†Don’t Keep Your Day Job (Reading/Business)
  • Get halfway through¬†A Song of Wraiths and Ruin (Reading)
  • Complete Sunstone Vol. 2 (Comics)
  • Complete¬†Warrior Nun (TV)
  • Complete Season 7 of¬†Star Wars: Clone Wars (TV)
  • Complete Season 5 of¬†Stargate Atlantis (TV)
  • Start Season 1 of¬†Stargate Universe¬†(TV)

Belated Nerding

While July has officially started, I’ve been afk from much of social media and blogging just due to, well… *gestures at the world* and it’s effect on my mental (and physical) health. So I just wanted to do a quick recap of things I nerded out over the past two months to not only just talk about some fun things, but also get my blogging fingers working again after some time off to take care of myself.

Monster Prom

I spent quite a bit of time during May talking about my time playing in Monster Prom. I even dabbled in it some during June. But I kind of left it by the wayside for some unknown reason. I think because I got into a, “nothing is bringing me joy because STRESS” mode for so long. I’m thinking of picking it up again this weekend (since I shouldn’t have to work, and I’m feeling less ill) just to get in some laughs and try to work my way through the achievements. I adore this game, and I’m very much looking forward to nerding out over it even more!

Clone Wars

I finished out season 6 of Clone Wars these past two months, but I have yet to pick up season seven. Partly due to the “ohgodstress” mindset, partly due to the fact that I know season 7 is the last season and I don’t want it to end, and partly because I got caught up in a binge of something else…

Stargate

(Fan trailer may contain spoilers) Oh man, I’ve about finished the Stargate chronology and I am both sad and excited. I made it through all of Stargate SG-1 (including the two movies), and am on the final season of Stargate Atlantis, which just leaves me with Stargate Universe afterwards. I’m not sure what series to pick up next for binging after I finish Stargate. I’m open to suggestions of similar shows, though! Maybe Babylon 5. Or Farscape! I never finished Farscape, and it’d be cool to keep with two of the SG-1 season 10 characters.

Animal Crossing

Spending time at Jae’s place!

After finally managing to get a Switch, I dove head first into Animal Crossing. I’m still figuring out how things work, and slowly working my way through upgrading my house and getting neighbors, but I’m having so much fun, and have appreciated hanging out with one of my best friends, and getting some help and hangout time with Jae, which I appreciated so very much. I hope to be able to play some more with others as I continue to get into Animal Crossing. I very much love the fishing, bug hunting, and just picking up sea shells (and giving everything I can to the museum!).

Planner Stickers

It may come as no surprise (after mentioning this was becoming a thing back in May) that I have become utterly obsessed with planner stickers. I think it brings me back to a time when I was¬†allowed to like stickers as a kid. Liking them as an adult is kind of a thing people look at you weirdly for, so finding this world of stickers that also help to keep me functioning has been a blessing, to be honest. It’s a creative outlet that I’ve much needed. I still get to collect and play with stickers, but it also gives me a visual of what I need/want to do so that I stay focused on tasks and feel much less stressed out about it.

I use my planner quite functionally, and pair it with my bullet journal so that the two together are a schedule and plan of what I need/want to accomplish each day. The month or so I’ve been doing this, has been quite helpful in helping to calm my mind. Especially after changing up my bullet journal style (for the second time this year) to allow myself more freedom to write and be creative and journal and put down stickers that I’m also using for the week in my planner.

FFXIV

I’m a goth fae queen. For the first time in my whole time playing FFXIV I hit the Mogstation…

I called it when I wrote about bouncing off of ESO. While I am still paying for a subscription, I haven’t really logged in (though I might want to do so for daily rewards this month…). I very much want to play it, but I don’t feel like I have the time or patience to do so right now. Instead, I have found myself diving into FFXIV once again. This time, I think it’s sticking more than it has before because I’ve been gaming some with the polycule.

Manthing and I either level some classes together (ARC/NIN), or we sit in Discord and play our own things. It also helps just being around the polycule as a whole even if I don’t get to play much with them. I’m still trying to figure my way around the FC, as I’m very much feeling an outsider right now, but I’m still enjoying my time playing mostly solo. I’ve been leveling my White Mage, and have been enjoying my time quite a bit.

I forgot how much I’ve loved healing. I haven’t healed in a very long time due to the fact that ex was always the healer, and I was always the tank. It feels comfortable, and has a more rhythmic flow to me than DPS does. Though, to be honest, I am very much looking forward to leveling Dancer, eventually!

Writing Challenge: Day in the Life

Writing Challenge: Day in the Life

The Challenge

I came across this challenge, and decided to flex my creative writing muscles since they’ve been dormant a long while. I also figured I’d share the challenge so that others could use it as a topic if they needed something!

Write a short story with the topic “a day in the life” and include these words.

  • Identical
  • Pot roast
  • Decorate
  • Sign
  • Abuse
  • Library
  • Amnesia
  • Butcher
  • Hydrangea
  • Parakeet

Arkady sighed. She rolled over to turn off the harsh alarm abusing her ears with a wave of her hand, and flopped back into bed on her back. Another wave of her hand brought up Arkady’s heads-up-display, hovering in the bed above her.

She scrolled through her to-do list and lazily read aloud. “Decorate the library for Arelle’s birthday. Get Jax to sign Arelle’s card… oh, that will be fun” she mused sarcastically.

“Pick up a pot roast at the butcher. Visit grandma and bring some hydrangea…”

Arkady sniffed back the tears before they started. Grandpa had succumbed due to complications with dementia. It had been tough. But watching Grandma suffer with amnesia due to her cancer treatments was absolutely heartbreaking.

“At least she still remembers her favorite flowers,” she thought aloud wistfully.

Just then Derix and Kasra started chirping and calling for Arkady. “Darn budgies, I at least wanted another few minutes,” complained Arkady. She rolled out of bed gracefully, slipped on her house shoes, and went out to feed her identical blue parakeets and start her day.

Am I Bouncing Off ESO?

Am I Bouncing Off ESO?

Last week, Syp had some thoughts on inventories and their effects on immersion. While his thoughts lead up to, specifically, Pantheon wanting to bring inventory weight back, it made me wonder if his starter thoughts are partially why I’ve been so “meh” about ESO as of late. I’ve been stuck with an overflowing inventory for months. For a while I only had time to log in for events and made sure to collect boxes and such and obtain my tickets, but then I had an inventory full of boxes, and not much desire to do anything with them.

I’d log in daily, if I remembered, grab my log in reward, look at my inventory, cringe, and log out. When I logged in last night, I’d 73 mails. And I finally told myself enough was enough. I spent about forty five minutes in game last night cleaning out my bags and working on traits. I deposited things I could into the bank (such as furniture and some recipes), and emptied my mail, which was mostly crafting materials. Then I went through all of my event boxes, and opened them. Then it was another bag cleanout and to the vendor to sell all the Treasure items that are throwaway from boxes.

After that I felt a lot better about my inventory, to be honest. And I felt more like playing. But I knew I didn’t have time, so instead, I updated a spreadsheet of what traits I need to learn for various professions, and then picked some up to train. I’m sure I could have gotten a lot of the traits cheaper than I did, but to be honest, I didn’t feel like playing the TTC run-around game. I will for some of the more expensive traits (Triune, and Nirnhoned), but right now most everything is training for 21 days. I’m planning to play a little bit on Saturday to at the very least pick up some Nirnhoned items to train for Woodworking so that I can start using up my crafting training scrolls.

Though maybe with a cleaner inventory, I’ll feel up to continuing my meander through Grahtwood.

Blog Crawl!

First, I want to give a shout out to Ace Asunder and Later Levels for the really cool idea they’ve come up with! I’ve already downloaded my trivia sheet and have been filling it out. The idea is that pubs typically have trivia nights, so since we can’t go to pubs, let’s do something similar through blogs! I’m looking forward to the final event for it, and seeing how everyone did with the trivia! Think about joining up if you’re looking for some new blogs to check out, or looking for possible bling for your blog. No actual blogging necessary, but it may give you some post ideas!

Happy Things

I mean… I’m a fan of all three.

Late last week the three Switch games I purchased came in! I decided to pick them up even if I can’t play them yet, so that whenever I can get a Switch I can start immediately. Of course, now they’re taunting me hardcore, and I absolutely wish I could play them now. One day the console will be in stock. I contemplated getting a Lite, but Manthing pointed out I’d probably regret it and be morose after more of the consoles come out. Which is fair, I would. So I’m still holding out. Even though ACNH is calling my name.

I also got my monthly Stickii pack over the weekend. I got the cute pack for May, and I do not regret this one bit. The theme was Under the Sea and I am in love! I usually am not big on things like pinks and yellows and greens, but the way they have worked them in is pretty awesome. So far for the month of June I’m digging the Retro pack, but we’ll see what the last teaser looks like tomorrow.

Manthing and I played some more Monster Prom this past weekend together. We decided to try out the second semester one, and it was a lot of fun. I decided to try dating Zoe, and um. It was very much like pursuing myself. Which, let’s be honest, I would totally do. I’m like Laszlo from What We Do in the Shadows in some ways, haha. Anyway, I ended up getting one of her secret routes, and it was a lot of fun! I’m hoping Manthing and I can keep playing Monster Prom some on the weekends.

Not weekend related, but I got my Switch today, so I’m super excited to shut down the computer for the night and get my Switch set up and play a teensy bit of Animal Crossing before bed!

Bandai Bundle

Friday means payday. And payday means a refresh to my fun budget! As such I spent a chunk of it on the new Bandai Humble Bundle. At first, I really only picked it up because Katamari Damacy is one of my favorite games in the history of games. The number of hours I sunk into that sucker on the PS2 is insane. It was the one game my parents couldn’t tear me away from, and was honestly one of the reasons they let me get a small television for my room as I finished high school so that I’d stop taking up the main house television.

I figured since the game itself was $30, picking up the bundle with it would be a good investment, even if Katamari was all I played. Then, of course, I noticed Tales of Berseria, which has been on my Steam wishlist for a while. It’s a $50 game, so picking up the $15 tier? Absolutely a good deal! I had missed the $25 tier at first, and figure since Man of Medan is by the same folks as Until Dawn that it’d be worth trying out, even if only for Spoopy Month. Here’s my breakdown of what I’ll play from the entire bundle.

  • PAC-MAN 256 – Won’t touch it.
  • ENSLAVED: Odyssey to the West – I wasn’t interested in this at first (ugh why do I have to always play as the male characters…), but after seeing that Andy Serkis voiced Monkey and directed the cutscenes, I’m willing to give it a try.
  • Get Even – I also wasn’t interested in this one at first, but it looks up my alley on further inspection. Based on the trailer it’s reminiscent of Layers of Fear, and I enjoyed that one.
  • .hack//G.U. Last Recode – I won’t play it, so I gifted it to Manthing.
  • Katamari Damacy REROLL – ABSOLUTELY YES. THE POINT OF THIS WHOLE BUNDLE OBVIOUSLY.
  • RAD – Ehhh, I’m not quite sure. Rogue-likes typically aren’t my thing, but I might give it a try.
  • TEKKEN 7 – Not my type of game. Pass.
  • Tales of Berseria – YES.
  • Man of Medan – YES.
Unintended Self-Discovery

Unintended Self-Discovery

Discord Overwhelm

Telwyn of GamingSF had some thoughts on Discord at the start of the month that resonated pretty strongly with me.

I just find I haven‚Äôt established a useful relationship with how Discord is used. I currently belong to five different community servers (including Blaugust, two MMO-related ones and two tabletop rpg ones). I rarely keep up with even the ‚Äúmain chat‚ÄĚ of any of them, let alone the 5-10 other topic specific channels that *each* community has. Using Discord feels like being hosed down with content every time I open the app.

I very much feel the same. Every time I open Discord, I am inundated. And while I can ignore it for a while, it just gets overwhelming. I’m still going to try to get better at using Discord, however. It’s the main tool friends like to use to communicate. And I feel at a distance from some of my favorite folks in Moogle’s Pom Tavern because I am just not sure how to catch up, or keep up. I think part of my problem is being in a bunch of servers I’m not actually participating in, and even though I’ve muted them, I can still see the little badge letting me know there’s things there for me to read.

I don’t want to leave some of these muted servers for various reasons (though I’ll happily leave others), so I’m unsure what to do about the dreaded unread notification dot in-app. Regardless, I’d very much like to figure something out so I can be a part of the communities I’d like to enjoy with friends, and maybe one day be able to effectively run my own community without much anxiety.

Bitten by the FFXIV Bug

I’ve been bitten by the FFXIV bug, but I’ve yet to succumb to the itch. Both Belghast and Sandrian have mentioned the Moogle Treasure Trove, which is of interest to me as a collector, but I also know that I’m nowhere near high enough level on any classes to do much of anything. Which I think is what’s keeping the bug at bay. Plus, let’s be honest, I really don’t have a core group of folks to play with.

Which, to be fair, is an issue I have with all games right now. Since my divorce, MMOs have just seemed far less enjoyable (I had a live-in gaming partner after all). And Manthing and I are never bitten by the same MMO bug at the same time, either. And I just feel so very shy with trying to engage with a group of folks I don’t know in MMOs. In ESO, I’m pretty silent. I ignore the chat of one of my guilds completely, and only really chat in the other one when Eldan Monster is online.

In honesty, I think this kind of ties back to Discord, as well. I think the past few years I’ve just been struggling to make friends, and interact with the ones I do have. And I have the same problem whether it’s Discord or a game (or even real life)‚ÄĒI end up feeling overwhelmed, and then I hide and distance myself from the friends I do have, and don’t let myself make new ones.

Woof! We’re really doing some tough self-discovery in this post today, aren’t we?

I’m not sure how to begin to fix this problem. I know the “easy” solution is to just… stop distancing myself and talk to others. But that’s a big struggle right now, and I can’t think of any other solutions quite yet.

What is a Weekend?

Rambling Redshirt mentioned in one of his recent posts that he’s been experiencing some difficulty differentiating between weekends and weekdays. I’ve been feeling much the same, to be honest. The routines are much the same, and the content differs, but only slightly. My weekdays are busy with meetings and day job tasks, adult entertainment tasks, and blogging. But my weekends are much the same, minus the meetings.

Therefore, as of this past weekend, I’ve decided to start a new thing. Mainly because I’ve just been burnt out on life. I took Saturday completely for myself, as much as I struggled with doing so. And honestly, having a day entirely to myself, unplanned, where I give myself permission to do whatever I want, and give myself time off from even doing chores actually helped quite a bit. I even did dishes out of a desire to do them instead of “Ugh, they’re piling up, I should do them”.

While it has yet to completely solve my burnout, I’m looking forward to doing much the same this coming Saturday. I’m also looking forward to the week I took off work at the start of June because I’m just struggling with functioning and need time to relax, and finish cleaning/setting up my apartment (almost two years after moving in at this point).

Planner Addict

I may be turning into that person who’s obsessed with planning. I mean, I’ve kind of always been, this is no surprise, to be honest, but it’s the fact that I’m loving all the stickers and designing in my Happy Planner that’s surprising to me. This past weekend I ordered weekly sticker packs for the month of June, and I’m dying to get them in and use them. Some of them are printables, so Ainyan kindly offered her printer and Silhouette to cut them. I’ll need to go over and help Manthing choose which files to print and cut for June, but I may have him print an extra set of weekly pages so I can do some designing prior to June.

YouTube Thoughts

It needs some updates, as does the blog, tbh.

I’ve been having the YouTube itch, again. Specifically this weekend. It was strong at the start of the year because I can’t get back into streaming just yet due to lack of time. But then life happened and my desire flamed out a bit. The flame is back, and I’ve been trying to decide what to do with my channel. At first, I thought about splitting it up into multiple channels like a lot of guides and how-to videos have said to do… but that’s not what I want to do. It doesn’t feel like the correct choice, or the right path to take. I’ve been trying to get better about listening to my gut on even the simple/less important decisions in my life, so I’m going to go against all advice out there and do my own thing.

I’m passionate about a lot, and breaking up those passions into separate channels feels more like a chore than doing YouTube for what it should be‚ÄĒsomething to enjoy. Therefore, hopefully in the near future, I’ll be starting to put more Let’s Play videos up, as well as some vlogs and plan with me videos where I share my stickers and such.

Clone Wars

I watched some Clone Wars this weekend, as well. I’m so close to finishing season five! I’m in a weird place with watching anything recently, opting for YouTube binges (typically of planners and soap) instead. So it felt good to get back to watching a few episodes. It’s been exciting to watch, but almost bittersweet because I know I’m essentially two seasons (or about 20-something episodes) from finishing it once I’m done with this season.

Monster Prom

This weekend, however, was dedicated mostly to Monster Prom! I played so much Monster Prom. So much. So very much. Hours upon hours. It was so much damn fun. Even when I was getting rejected for dates, it was fun. I played a bunch of it online with Manthing as well. I know I was playing it with the intention of just the hearts and didn’t think about what areas on campus gave which stats (and how they might apply to securing a date). Once we figured that out, it made things go much smoother (as did finding a few guides to use when we felt stuck after our first few runs).

I honestly don’t know what to say about the game at the moment, other than I absolutely love it and that I have never laughed so hard at a game before. While playing with Manthing, I was romancing Damien, and ended up sitting at the lunch table with the Coach and Scott. I set off some fireworks to make them go away, and the reaction from coach, was, well… a picture is worth a thousand words. I think Manthing secretly got annoyed that I couldn’t stop laughing for about five minutes straight. I was laughing so hard that no sound was coming out at one point.

I am looking forward to playing more of this with Manthing on date night tomorrow, and maybe hopefully some more this weekend. I also plan to play some myself once I’m done with a big project milestone for day job this week. That’s my motivation: dating Monsters.

Seriously Geeky Sundays: Food

Seriously Geeky Sundays: Food

Seriously Geeky Sundays

Another Sunday, another set of prompts brought to us by Heather of Just Geeking By! This week’s prompts were spawned by today being both National Cherry Cobbler Day and National Walnut Day, along with a bunch of other National food “holidays” this week, so Heather decided it obviously had to be a food-related question week! Be sure to check out the rest of May’s prompts if you’re interested in joining, or start planning for June’s prompts!

Food

If you could have any fictional food item become reality, what would it be?

Probably some of the confectioneries that show up in the Harry potter novels. Probably the chocolate frogs, even though I have to be in the right mood for chocolates.

What is your favorite food moment/scene?

I don’t know that it’s my favorite, but one that always sticks with me is the scene where Edmund meets the White Witch for the first time in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. But my favorite food movie would absolutely have to be Tortilla Soup.

What fictional restaurant would you like to visit?

The Double R Diner is absolutely my first choice. Need some of Norma’s cooking, after all. Especially her pie. Yeah, it’s a Twin Peaks thing.

What is the most decadent dessert you’ve seen in a fandom?

To be fair, I’m honestly not sure that I pay much attention to food in fandoms. So I can’t say a specific dessert has called to me. I guess I’m going to have to go with Norma’s pie as mentioned above, really.

What is the most disgusting food item you’ve seen?

Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Bean. I’m sure there’s grosser things, but the fact that people have tried to replicate them for jollies just absolutely grosses me out.

What is your favorite fandom-inspired recipe/food item?

Oh goodness, I’m not sure! I love seeing what various creatives come up with, and have even attempted some myself from WoW and Harry Potter.
