    KHHHAAAANNNNN!!!!

Image from Wikipedia I just wanted to remind everybody that today is William Shatner’s 80th birthday. Whether you love him, hate him, or could care less about him, he’s been a big influence in geek culture, and today’s pop culture. As a YouTube video comment claims, “This man will be the sample king long after Charlie Sheen and Vanilla Ice are doorstops of pop history.” Most people know him as Captain Kirk, though he’s done quite a bit more than that. Commercials, other various TV shows, conventions, and even guest-spots on geeky shows and movies (such as Fanboys), and more. To celebrate The Shat, I leave you with a classic.…

    20 Days of… Introduction (Day 1)

Saga over at Spellbound proposed a “20 Days of…” challenge based upon Ama‘s “20 Days of Warcraft”. I found it by following Saz, and found it really interesting… so I’m going to do it in hopes that it will get me blogging more regularly and keep my creative juices going. So, without further ado, here’s Day 1! Day 1 entails an Introduction of myself. Now, I could direct you to my first post, where I give a brief introduction of myself, or I could direct you to my Autoblogography from a previous BA:ST, or even direct you to my various pages about me. But, to be fair, I guess I’ll give…

    BAST: Favorite Weapon

This past week, Kallixta‘s Shared Topic was proposed over at BA:ST: I was comparing a new upgrade to my older item when it struck me how much I liked my old item. Like is wonderfully subjective and I hope others will explain their measure. Is your favorite weapon something with strong memories for you? Is it something that just works well for RP purposes? Or maybe the balance of abilities meshes better than normal to your spec and play style? I have to admit… I should belong in Too-Many-Weapons Anonymous or something. I’m huge into collecting pretty weapons when I see them while raiding–whether it be new or old content. I…

    Shade of the Elm: 9/12

I just wanted to give a huge shout-out to my guild, congratulating them on our ninth boss kill since we started raiding in late-January. We may not be the most hardcore progression guild, but we have a ton of fun, and we get stuff done! This week has just been an amazing set of runs–we downed all of the bosses that were semi-progression easily this week, and I think we’re starting to get over the hump. 🙂 I have the utmost confidence that this weekend we’ll be 10/12 when we down Cho’gall (3% last week!). Again, grats everybody! And not just those that were there for the kill, but each…

    Hiatus Status: Complete

Image from PinoyBlogero I apologize profusely for my extended hiatus. The past few months have been hectic with some medical changes, the start of the New Year, an extremely busy semester in Graduate school (my final portfolio defense is coming up! Eek!), and obtaining a new and amazing job. Expect updates much more frequently now that I’ve sorted things out and have gotten things rolling and back to a state of normalcy. Also, I just downloaded WMV… and can’t wait to use it for a BAST post! 😀

    Naa… Nananana Na na na…

I know you sang it in your head. Yeah, you did. Don’t lie. And for those asking, “Sang what?”… Well, let me enlighten you, my good friends! That, my friends, is Katamari Damacy. And absolutely phenomenal game, that I wish I still had, along with the system to play it. Oh, how I miss it… But that’s not the point of this post. The point of this post is to gush about a quest out in Uldum. The quest… Gnomebliteration! That totally had an echo in my head when I thought of it. Like one of those fancy announcer type echoes. Anywho… While the Elephant and I were leveling to…

    Trek Geekiness

We interrupt your regularly scheduled randomness for some Star Trek geekiness! I added Star Trek.com on Facebook a while back. While I don’t really use Facebook much, except to keep in contact with a few friends, I thought it would be cool to “Like” and follow one of my favorite series. While I like most of the Star Trek series (Voyager never sat right with me… Janeway needed a lot more oomph), my absolute favorite was Deep Space Nine. Seven seasons of glory… or allegory. Whichever you choose. But, it is still my favorite, regardless. Anyway, as I was browsing through Facebook seeing the Christmas updates people had made, I…

    Cataclysm…Late Edition

Jaedia of Jaedia’s Menagerie had the BA:ST for last week: What are your initial thoughts about the Cataclysm expansion? It’s a topic you can take anywhere you’d like. What’s your favourite new zone? What do you think of the instances? Any screenshots you’d like to share? Anything you’re excited to get started on? So, for those that don’t know, I’ve had some trouble getting into the game to play the past few weeks. The Elephant and I had our Collector’s Editions sent to my parent’s house since we’d be on vacation there when Cataclysm released. My computer crashed before we left, so I got a new laptop while we were…

    Blighter’s Dream

This week, Zahia from One More Alt posed the BA Shared Topic over at the forums: If you were a developer being asked to design a boss for Cataclysm, what boss would you create? Would it be a vicious warrior, a crazy shaman, a cheating rogue, an overpowered mage, or a mix of all of these? What would his more letal skill be? What type of lair would he have? Obviously I’m a tad behind on getting to this topic, but my computer crashed. Anyway! The topic at hand! I’ve always been interested in Druids (and Dragons, but that’s another story for another day). I find the Warcraft lore for Druids…
