    TGTCML, Part 3

This is post 25 of 31 for the Blaugust event. To check out more Blaugust posts and sign up to participate, visit the Blaugust Nook! Aywren, one of the Blaugust participants, posed an impromptu writing prompt on her blog asking: Do you have a game you feel changed your life? Blaugust about it! This post is part three of this journey. You can view part one and part two at your leisure. In the last post, I talked about WoW, and how I discovered it. The last part I detailed was moving over to Llane to play with some friends from college who were more laid-back and not raid-focused. I had recently moved to Georgia for graduate school,…

    TGTCML, Part 2

This is post 13 of 31 for the Blaugust event. To check out more Blaugust posts and sign up to participate, visit the Blaugust Nook! Aywren, one of the Blaugust participants, posed an impromptu writing prompt on her blog asking: Do you have a game you feel changed your life? Blaugust about it! This post is part two of this journey. You can view part one at your leisure. Down the rabbit hole. In 2007, I transferred from a State college to a Private college for various reasons. I’d been poked about playing World of Warcraft by some of my friends from the state college, but I never really felt any real connection with those…

    Favorite MMO Fantasy Setting

Today at Massively OP, the Daily Grind asked what your favorite MMO fantasy setting is. For me, it’s three different games. I am not classifying WildStar as a fantasy, as I much more see it as sci-fi than fantasy. World of Warcraft While I no longer play WoW, I’ve always loved the Outlands. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s when I first really got into the game (so it’s nostalgia) or because it’s just that great of a map. Or both. My favorite zone within the Outlands was probably Nagrand, with Zangarmarsh as a very close second. The zones just felt so expansive and full of life. Final Fantasy XIV Every zone…

    Developer Appreciation Week 2015

Today marks the final day of Developer Appreciation Week for 2015. Lots of folks around the blogosphere have been thanking Developers in games that have made a difference in their life (even a small one) left and right. While there have been many games I’ve played that have made a difference in my life, whether they be console, handheld, or one-shot computer games, I would like to specifically thank the MMO developers out there. Why? Belghast said it best: I have a hard time viewing these companies as the evil empires they are made out to be. No one sets out wanting to make a horrible product, and no one…

    The Token

Image from the official posting announcing the WoW Token, link below. I was going to write a long post about the WoW Token that was just announced yesterday, however, there are some better posts, this one in particular, that do a much better job of summing up and discussing possible ramifications, etc. A great read for folks. I’m intrigued by the possibility of being able to play WoW again, however, I have to ask myself, how casual a player will I be able to be? Not just from the “there’s so much to do!” aspect, but more of the “how much farming and AHing and leveling do I have to…

    Levequests, ho!

Coming up with a title is the most difficult part of an entry. My question, before I begin, is: How do all of you bloggers come up with titles that are relevant to the post, and not just parts of it? FFXIV Last night, I logged in to do some fishing and relax after doing quite a bit of real life food prep for the rest of the week. Some kindly FC members gave me and hubs some fishing gear, as well as gear for our main classes. We’re so excited to be in such a great home! When Chaide got home, we leveled from 11 to almost 15. We…

    IntPiPoMo 13-16: Giving Thanks

Angelya over at Revive and Rejuvenate has developed a new challenge! IntPiPoMo, or International Picture Posting Month is an alternative to the popular NaNoWriMo. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, and the goal is to write fifty thousand words by the end of the month, IntPiPoMo asks that you post fifty pictures during the month of November. This is my contribution. Today in the United States, everybody is celebrating Thanksgiving in their own way. Whether it be home cooked meals, take out, or sit in dinners at restaurants, everybody is (hopefully!) giving thanks for the wonderful things in their lives. Myself, I am thankful for a loving soulmate, an amazing family, some…

    The Week in Retrospect: SKYRIM!!!

So, to keep myself blogging at least once a week (hopefully more?), I plan on posting about what’s happened during the week for me regarding gaming, and possibly real life if it isn’t too personal or something. (There’s only so much one can be willing to put on the Interwebs, right?) The BlogThis week I spent some time updating the blog layout. More minor tweaks than anything. Changed some colors around so they weren’t so ouchy on the eyes (which I discovered with a new monitor were quite ouchy) as well as elongating the banner and hosting it on a (really small) personal space I had during grad school. It…

    IntPiPoMo 7-10: Sethekk Halls

Angelya over at Revive and Rejuvenate has developed a new challenge! IntPiPoMo, or International Picture Posting Month is an alternative to the popular NaNoWriMo. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, and the goal is to write fifty thousand words by the end of the month, IntPiPoMo asks that you post fifty pictures during the month of November. This is my contribution. One of the places I frequent most is Sethekk Halls. Possibly because it’s gorgeous to me, but mainly because obtaining Anzu has been my goal since I first found out about him in TBC. Recently, the place has become the bane of my existence while I see guildie after guildie and…

    IntPiPoMo 1-6: Forsaken Architecture

Angelya over at Revive and Rejuvenate has developed a new challenge! IntPiPoMo, or International Picture Posting Month is an alternative to the popular NaNoWriMo. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, and the goal is to write fifty thousand words by the end of the month, IntPiPoMo asks that you post fifty pictures during the month of November. This is my contribution. I’ve been in a bit of an alt mood lately (while not watching the Elephant play Skyrim or playing it myself), and have started leveling my Forsaken Mage. I don’t normally play Forsaken, but it seemed right to try out the new quests, for one. It also…
