Dungeon Fun – Ding 22!
Note: It took me way longer to put this post together than anticipated–I started it on March 11th and got distracted by a lot of stuff for ThaydFest in WildStar, which I will post about soon! Last Wednesday, Chaide and I were able to get in a long session of some Final Fantasy! It was great! We signed on fairly early in the evening and worked on a few quests while we waited for Kodra and Belghast to sign online, as they had volunteered to help with our dungeons (so kind!). Chaide and I got kind of impatient and decided to overcome our fear of past PuG experiences and head…

War Woolie, Nekkid Stormtalon, and His Head
This past weekend and Tuesday night were hopping good times in WildStar. Veteran Shiphands Sunday afternoon, we ran a few shiphands to get Golds so folks could unlock the AMP point (or is it the LAS? I can’t remember…). It was a blast, and I finally got in a Rage Logic. All of the shiphands are major fun, but I get more of a kick out of them as a guild group than anything. I discovered, for the first time ever, that there is a secret hidden up top in one of the shiphands–Outpost M-13. This little guy gets you an achievement when you click on him, and then follows…

Liebster Award 2015
Towards the end of last week, I was nominated by both Aywren and Iron Weakness to participate in the Liebster Award. A nasty cold/fever knocked me out this weekend, so I am just getting to it now. As with Aywren, this is the first time I’ve heard of this, and I am honored to be able to participate in the large chain of bloggers participating in this. So there’s a few different ways to go about this award, as I have researched, but I am going to go the same route as Aywren–state 11 random facts about myself, then answer the questions posed to me by my nominators, create my own…

FFXIV Main Story Bonanza!
Finally getting around to writing this post up, even though we finished a bunch of storyline on Sunday, and it’s now Thursday. But there was just so much to write (or rather, over 120 images to go through to figure out which to post), that it was hard to do it all in one sitting. I will warn that there are possible spoilers ahead. If you care about knowing what happens in the main storyline in FFXIV, especially from the point of view of Limsa Lominsa, then I would turn around and head to a different post. I will also warn that this is an extremely image-heavy post. Fair warning.…

Cooking and You: A Farming Guide [Algoroc/Celestion]
Leveling cooking in WildStar is difficult. Not just what you have to do to unlock recipes and hit the nodes and tear your hair out, but also the fact that to fill out the cooking tech tree to unlock higher level recipes, you will need to cook certain amounts of lower level recipes to earn “stars” to fill out the tree. The most difficult part to filling out the tree and getting these stars is to, well, grind out the materials. The meats being the hardest to grind out because of the low drop rates. So I have been slowly working on a guide. The areas highlighted are the highest…

The Token
Image from the official posting announcing the WoW Token, link below. I was going to write a long post about the WoW Token that was just announced yesterday, however, there are some better posts, this one in particular, that do a much better job of summing up and discussing possible ramifications, etc. A great read for folks. I’m intrigued by the possibility of being able to play WoW again, however, I have to ask myself, how casual a player will I be able to be? Not just from the “there’s so much to do!” aspect, but more of the “how much farming and AHing and leveling do I have to…

Live Long and Prosper, Spock
This will be short and sweet, as Syp has said it much better than I ever could. But it hit me really hard today, to hear that Leonard Nimoy had passed away. When I read on Star Trek’s site a few days ago that he had been admitted to the hospital for his COPD, I was a tad worried, but was positive he’d be around for a while yet. It hit me like a wall today to find out he’d passed. I literally cried in my cube at work for a good half hour or so. While I wasn’t a youngin’ at the time that Star Trek was on television,…

Ding 15!
Yesterday I had the pleasure of working from home, so I was able to spend a good chunk of my evening and night in FFXIV. Fishing I did a LOT of leveling of fishing. I got from 14 to 18. Higher than I’ve ever gotten! Ding! 15! I’m quite enjoying fishing. It’s relaxing. It’s a great way to spend time in game while also getting other things done. For instance, working on the blog (I updated all my pages, including the blog roll!), or watching some Netflix, or cooking dinner, or exercising. It’s something I’ve missed since WoW, and I’m glad it’s back in a current MMO that I’m playing.…

Nekkid Baby Protostar
What exactly is a Naked Baby Protostar, you ask? Well, do any of you remember doing naked raids in WoW? An Explanation It’s where you go into a raid (in this case, a level 10 instance) at level, stripped down to your skivvies, and you roll need on items for your class (light needs light armor, heavy needs heavy armor, etc.). At the end of the night, the goal is to see who has the wackiest and most put together outfits. Plus, it’s a tad more challenging than just going in and completely facerolling. Nekkid Protostar! In passing, naked raids came up in TeamSpeak about a month ago, and some people…

Levequests, ho!
Coming up with a title is the most difficult part of an entry. My question, before I begin, is: How do all of you bloggers come up with titles that are relevant to the post, and not just parts of it? FFXIV Last night, I logged in to do some fishing and relax after doing quite a bit of real life food prep for the rest of the week. Some kindly FC members gave me and hubs some fishing gear, as well as gear for our main classes. We’re so excited to be in such a great home! When Chaide got home, we leveled from 11 to almost 15. We…
