Gaming Goals: August
This is post 3 of 31 for the Blaugust event. To check out more Blaugust posts and sign up to participate, visit the Blaugust Nook! I’ve been enjoying putting together this gaming goals thing I decided to try out in June. It’s helped me a bunch with focusing my time, especially when I was lacking it. Last month I had a lot of real life, so I didn’t complete nearly as many goals as I wanted to. So this month I think I’m going to cut down on them a little bit more, too. First, because I dislike having things unchecked on my list, and second, I’m adjusting to a new schedule IRL (plus…

Gaming Goals Review: July
This is post 2 of 31 for the Blaugust event. To check out more Blaugust posts and sign up to participate, visit the Blaugust Nook! I started this back in June 2015, and have been keeping up with it this past month. I had reduced my goals for July because I knew that we would have limited play time as we had ten days of vacation time, as well as getting ready to move on August 1st. So, let’s see if tuning down my goals made them easier to accomplish! WildStar Goals Chestnut Reach the max tier of the PvP contracts for the first time ever Reach the max tier of…

Gaming Goals: July
Trying this out last month seemed to be helpful to me in those waffley “I don’t know what to play!” whiney moments, so I’m going to try it again this month! You might notice that this month the lists are a tad shorter. The reasoning behind this is (1) we’ll be on vacation for about nine days, and (2) I didn’t get through a bunch of things, so I’d like to try to make the list a little more tackle-able. So, without further ado, my gaming goals for July! WildStar Goals Chestnut Reach the max tier of the PvP contracts for the first time ever Reach the max tier of…

Gaming Goals Review: June
So, I started something new at the beginning of this month where I decided to set some gaming goals for myself and then see how I did with them, because I’ve much less time than I’d like with real life cropping up and all that jazz. So, let’s review how I did with them! WildStar Goals Reach the max tier of both the PvP and PvE contracts by the end of the month (I still have yet to max them since they came out) Max my rep in the Crimson Badlands and Northern Wastes (The first two daily areas. And no, I still haven’t finished maxing the reps.) Finish out…

Attunement Done!
I’ve been spending a large quantity of time in WildStar since Thursday (though Friday I pretty much just binged on Gilmore Girls, which I’m enjoying, as I never watched it at the time it was on television). I’ve helped run a lot of dungeons, worked on contracts, reps, and dailies… and I finished my attunement for Genetic Archives!! I’m glad to be done, honestly. Though the hardest part wasn’t the adventures, or dungeons, or bosses, (though they were are difficult). The most difficult part was finding the desire to finish it. To find a group of people I’d like to raid with, and not just “put up with” or what-have-you. While…

Gaming Goals: June
WildStar Gaming yesterday was a bit lacking. I did log into WildStar, but I mainly started taking care of some guild-management stuff for when we go F2P. A lot of combing the roster, seeing if folks have applied to our site, yada yada. I also put together Episode 5 of Yardcore Nexus, which takes some time. And it doesn’t always cooperate with the game, either, so at one point I had to sit and watch Netflix while my video rendered. I think that’s a sign I need an upgrade to my computer? But I’m not sure what to upgrade. Besides, we don’t have the extra cash for it right now,…

Update II: Pre-Cata Plans
Or, “What we got done before The Shattering changed Achievements” Just a quick little check off list to the Elephant’s and my original list, and first update on the list. What We Checked Off: Both weapon achievements: Knuckle Sandwhich and Four Types. They’re now feats of strength. All of the critter achievements. There’s now a new one… which I am diligently making a list for. Maybe I’ll even post the list when I’m done with it. The book achievement. Though, with the little exploration we’ve done, it looks like most books are generally in the same vicinity as they were before the Shattering. Loremaster of both Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor.…

Update: Pre-Cata Plans
Last time I went on and on (almost ad-nauseam) about what the Elephant and I wanted to complete before Cataclysm rolls around. As it draws closer, we’ve been able to check off some of the items on our list so far. Glory of the HeroWe wanted to grab our Red Proto-Drakes before Blizzard (possibly) took away the drake from the achievements. They’ve taken away some of the raiding drakes, so we got worried–especially with no word on whether the drake is going away or not. So we wanted to be safe rather than sorry. And, I am proud to say, we earned that sucker! The last one we needed was…

Plans Pre-Cataclysm
The Elephant and I have been running older raids with the guild to work toward some achievements. Most recently, we finished up Blackwing Lair (and before that, Molten Core). Tomorrow, we’re doing Karazhan. Last night, while working on the quest line to get the Karazhan key (so we can get our guild inside) we got tons of achievements, including: The Arcatraz, The Botanica, The Mechanar, The Steamvault, and Shadow Labyrinth (along with grinding out the related reps for our various reputation achievements). That got us thinking. What changes are coming in Cataclysm? What achievements do we need/want to finish before then? Well, we came up with a list! Master of…
